Burundi’s president dies.

The Burundian government has put out unfortunate news about the death of His Excellency Pierre Nkurunziza.

A press release signed by the government’s spokesperson recounts events that have led to the demise of the President.
According to the statement, the late president felt uneasy on the night of the 6th June after watching a Volleyball game earlier in the afternoon. He was then admitted to the hospital for treatment. He felt better on Sunday the 7th and had discussions with his entourage.
It, therefore, came as a surprise when in the late morning of Monday the 8th his status suddenly changed as he suffered a cardiac arrest. Despite intensive care, Mr. Nkurunziza could not make it.

Pierre Nkurunziza, 55, had been president since 2005 and was meant to hand over power in few months.
