Thomas Partey is attracting interests from top clubs in Europe whilst his current club, Atletico Madrid, makes efforts to get him to sign a contract extension.
The Ghanaian international has been in the news in the past seasons for a possible move from the Spanish club but the speculations have never been as amplified as they are currently. What accounts for that, is the player’s series of sterling performances in recent times that have put him at the forefront of debates on the most competitive midfielders in Europe and earned him the status of a mainstay in Diego Simeone’s side.
Arsenal is a prominent name amongst the clubs that are said to be doing the needful to land the services of the 26-year old. The Guardian reports that the manager of the Gunners Mikel Arteta «is keen to add him to his squad in the summer»
According to the Guardian, Atletico in the new contract they are offering Partey are seeking to tie the player to the club until 2025, double his current weekly salary of £65,000 and increase his release clause to more than €100 million.
