CAN Basket 3 × 3: Double champion of Africa, Men and Ladies, for Egypt.

Angola hosted the 2019 edition of the African Cup of Nations Basketball 3 X 3. This edition will remain engraved in the annals of the discipline with the double of Egypt, champion in the men as well as the ladies.

This is a new performance that has just been recorded in 3X3 basketball in Africa. Indeed the Africa Cup of Nations discipline that took place in Kampala in Angola saw the coronation of Egypt on both counts. In the men “Pharaohs” dethrone Ivory Coast while the ladies barred the way for a third Malian title.

The Egyptians made a faultless run from the pool matches until they qualified for the final and final poster of the competition. Be it Benin, Mali or Madagascar, all have borne the brunt of the very good shape of the basketball Pharaohs. In the pool match, they beat Benin (21-15) and Mali (21-17) to open the doors to the quarter-finals. At this stage, the Egyptians ended the course of Nigeria on the score of 17 points against 13. Third place went to Mali, winner of Madagascar on the 19-17 mark.

Unlike men, the course of Egyptian women has not been so fluid. For cause after the first victory of entry against Benin (21-11), they lost to the Malian (8-21). Egyptian basketball players kicked off in the third game, defeating Botswana by 21-12 and beating Uganda in the semifinal (21-17), validating their ticket to the final to face Mali a second time. An opportunity for them to take their revenge. What they managed to do by winning by 21-15, putting a sudden end to the reign of Malian. Uganda Grabbed 3rd place.
