Africa’s business Heroes stage
Africa’s Business Heroes, a competition that seeks to unearth impacting entrepreneurs across the continent is calling for applications for its second edition.
Chinese renowned businessman Jack Ma after his first visit to Africa in 2017 discovered the immense entrepreneurial potential on the continent and also took notice of the challenges that hinder the fulfillment of the said potential. Consequently, the Jack Ma foundation initiated «a philanthropic project, which annually awards 10 African entrepreneurs with a shared $1.5M grant & tells their stories to the world» as the competition’s Twitter account description reads.
The mission they say, is «to strengthen the African entrepreneur ecosystem by identifying, telling the stories of, training, and awarding grant-funding to 100 Africa’s Business Heroes across Africa over the next 10 years»
When the inaugural edition was organized in Accra in 2019, 10 entrepreneurs made themselves lucky to have their share of the prize.
This year other African entrepreneurs will have the chance to demonstrate how impacting their entrepreneurial activities have been to their local communities.
June 9 is the deadline, and applications can be submitted here.
