The Senegalese Idrissa Gueye is the highest-paid African footballer in Ligue 1.
Idrissa Gueye ranks 17th among the highest-paid players in French Ligue 1, a recent publication in France Football magazine suggests. The 30-year-old player (Born September 26, 1989) earns 6 million euros gross annually, salary and bonuses put together. A 17th place that puts him at the top of the ranking of the best paid African players of the league.
In a club where competition is keen, Idrissa Gueye has managed to get a starting role. It took him a few months to become of utmost importance to the PSG (Paris Saint-Germain) midfield. He was able to convince his coach Thomas Tuchel thanks to his simple but very good game. The native of Dakar (Senegal) landed at the Qatari club, in the 2019 summer, for a transfer of 30 million euros, coming from Everton (England).
