After four consecutive years, AFRIMA awards steps out of Nigeria to explore Ghana as the country is officially the host nation of the upcoming 2018 edition.
At the kempiski Hotel in Accra, earlier last week, it was all smiles when the Executive Producer and President of AFRIMA, Mr Mike Dada handed to the ghanaian Minister of Tourism, Arts and culture, Hon. Catherine Afeku, the AFRIMA trophy to congratulate Ghana for winning the hosting rights of the much anticipated event.
Accra is therefore set to be the second lucky city to host all major stakeholders as far as music on the continent is concerned after Lagos played that role from 2014 to 2017.
Regional and continental nominations were announced earlier in August featuring some of the biggest names one could think of, notably Wizkid, Diamond Platnumz, Toofan, Cassper Nyovest, Davido just to mention few.
The competition promises to be keen as relatively new artistes have been able to get quite a decent number of nominations and even more so earned a place on the top contenders list.
Afrima.org is the go-to website for fans who are eager to vote and support their favourite artistes to win whilst they await the awards night and other activities scheduled to take place between 21st and 24th November 2018.
